I’m always asking friends and family what shows on netflix they’re currently watching. I love finding a great binge-worthy series. As a busy mom of two toddlers, it’s one of my favorite forms of self-care.
Self-care is such a buzz word nowadays. But I do think it’s important; because it’s hard to find alone time when you’re a mom. Between the demands of your children, household duties, and maybe even work, there’s little time for ourselves.
But taking a little time for ourselves to unwind and recharge is healthy. It’s taking some time for ourselves to renew not only our bodies, but our souls. Self-care doesn’t have to be a day-long trip to the spa, or an entire (and expensive!) girls’ weekend getaway.
Self-care can be something as small as a short catnap in the afternoon, reading a book alone in the quiet for 20 minutes . . . or binge-watching an episode or two on Netflix.
When I find a show on netflix that is just that good, I often find myself up way past my bedtime justifying “just one more episode.” It’s so worth the risk of needing an extra cup of coffee the next day due to lack of sleep.
