Happy New Year! At the beginning of a new year, we often reflect back over the previous one. And today I’m excited to share the Best Sellers for the Year: The Top 20 for 2020!

But first, I want to take a moment and recognize the year that it’s been!

This year has certainly been one for the record books! But even during a year with so much uncertainty, difficulty and many things cancelled, there’s also been sweet spots, silver linings and hidden blessings.

It’s certainly not been easy.

But many have spent more quality time with family or freshened up their homes with the extra time on their hands. I’ve never been so thankful for food and shopping deliveries, modern technology (allowing us to keep in touch with our relatives), and being able to stream our favorite shows.

And many thanks to all of you for hanging out with me here this year! Looking forward to the new year and wishing you health & happiness in 2021!

HOME DECOR

1. Bathroom Counter Organization: Rectangle Marble Tray and Jewelry Box

At the beginning of last year, I decided to declutter my bathroom countertop. I bought this marble tray from Target and have loved it ever since! It fits my morning face washes and cream. It also fits this cute faux floral arrangement that’s been another best seller.

These items are great because they can be used in different places in the home and moved easily.

The marble tray has consistently been one of the most popular items on here all year. It’s gone in and out of stock during the year but is currently in stock now. I found similar looking trays in faux marble HERE and HERE on Amazon if you’re wanting a similar look.

I got this jewelry box last year at the same time I got the marble tray. I decided to use the jewelry box for my most worn pieces. The box was big enough to store a good amount of jewelry, while still being compact enough to fit on the countertop.

There are three pull out drawers, each with different sized compartments. This makes it easy to store earrings and smaller pieces in the top, and larger pieces like watches and bracelets in the bigger ones.

I was storing some necklaces in this jewelry box until recently when I added this standing jewelry organizer too. This prevented some of the more delicate necklaces from getting tangled.

2. Faux Floral Arrangement

I was very impressed when I opened this faux floral arrangement when ordering Spring Decor from Amazon last spring. I think it’s more realistic looking than many other faux floral pieces. It’s the perfect size for bathroom or kitchen counters, and would even look pretty on a night stand.

3. Christmas trees

Christmas trees and holiday decor were another popular category. We moved this year and upgraded to this larger, flocked slim tree. It was one of the most popular trees with readers as well as this one and this one.

4. Kids Table and Chairs Set

I knew I was going to love this set because we already had a set of the chairs, but in the mint color. We wanted the table and it only comes in a set with chairs, so we opted for the cream color since it matched well with our playroom.

These chairs are a good size without being too large, so even little ones can use them and continue to use for years. I also love how easy it is to put this set together: no tools needed!

I had originally ordered this table and chairs set but they ended up being too small for my kids.

5. Black and White pouf

These poufs are another item that consistently showed up almost weekly as a best seller. They come in a bunch of colors too!

They sold out twice before I was finally able to snag them! I love the style and stitching. And they look good in many different areas of the home.

I will say though, that we only use them for foot rests. There were some reviews about them deflating, but after I read their description, it clearly states that there’s a weight limit for them. So if you were planning to use them as a seat, I’d caution you to make sure you read the info about them first.

6. SPANX faux leather leggings

It’s no surprise that SPANX faux leather leggings made the Top 20 of 2020 list. And not only are they a Meatball Mom reader favorite, but they were also a LIKEtoKNOW.it ‘Most Loved Fashion item for 2020′ as well.

I’ve had them for years and they still fit as good as when they were new. They go with so many outfits. If you’re short on ideas, I give you 9 ways to wear them HERE. If between sizes, I also recommend going up one size. I’m 5’3″ and wear them in small petite.

7. Plaid pajama jogger pants

I can’t say enough about these pajama joggers. For less than $20 and they come in a few prints, they’re the perfect winter pj pants. They look great with a tee or even styled with a sweater for a casual chic look. I wore them around the house many days with this sweater and this sweater.

I also loved pairing them with my cozy ugg socks:)

They are a comfortable material and even though they say they’re flannel, they still felt light, I never felt too warm at night.

I sized down one size to an XS but I think normal sizing would be fine especially if you like your sleepwear on the looser side.

8. Leopard Print Sneakers

These were one of your favorite items and also one of my favorite purchases this year! These comfy sneakers are under $20 and look so cute with lots of outfits. The leopard print really elevates any look. I sized up 1/2 size after reading the reviews and they fit perfectly.

9. Plaid flannel shirt

Black and white go with so many things and the ways to style this flannel shirt are practically endless! But I’ve listed 5 easy ways to start wearing your flannel shirt right now. If you need some inspo, you can read the full post HERE. I also grabbed this flannel a few weeks ago too.

10. Striped tee

I purchased this tee during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this past summer and I wasn’t expecting too much from it — but man! I’m impressed! It’s not only soft and comfy, but its got a cute neckline and the perfect length. I wear this tee alone, or layered with a cardigan or jacket.

It comes in other colors and I am definitely going to be getting more of them!

11. Checkered tote

For under $50, this tote has been a long time reader favorite. With it’s designer inspired look and affordable price tag, who wouldn’t love it?!

12. Basic White Tee

For me, shopping for a basic white tee isn’t too exciting. But when I find one I love, I’m so glad to have it when I style and outfit and find myself in need for one. A basic white tee is a wardrobe staple.

I got mine from Amazon. It comes in a ton of colors and prints, has great ratings, and even has a long sleeve version. I’m wearing my usual size small.

13. Feather Loafer

They must call these feather loafers because they’re as light as them. These suede loafers are super soft and comfy. I recommend sizing up 1/2 size. I’m wearing them here in an 8.

14. Amazon Sweaters

I’ve been living in Amazon sweaters this Fall & Winter! And the following sweaters have been wildly popular with readers this year too! I found them all to fit true to size and I wear my normal size Small.

Leopard Print Cardigan: Looks great with so many things! It’s warm and cozy and comes in a bunch of colors. This color was also a favorite.

White Oversized Batwing Sweater: I already had this in black, but added the white one to my collection. Not only was it a favorite of mine but yours too, as it was consistently a weekly and monthly best seller.

Oversized Leopard Print Pullover Sweater: This sweater is longer and looks great over leggings. If you’re petite like me, you even wear as a sweater dress, like I did paired with my over the knee boots.

15. Matching Family Christmas Pjs

This pair of matching holiday pajamas from Walmart was the most popular pair of matching pjs this year. Sadly they aren’t still available but you can find other Walmart matching pjs HERE.

16. Amazon Swim Suits

I shared lots of affordable ‘mom-friendly’ Amazon Swimsuits in a blog post HERE. And these are the most popular suits that were a hit from the time I shared them early in the year, all the way through the summer–and even after.

I shared one piece, high-waisted two-piece suits and matching family swimsuits. The tri-color color block suit was super popular, but no longer available. But this one from Target looks identical and is around the same price point!

17. This Pajama Set

The cutest pajama set! I bought in size small which fit, but recommend going up a size for a looser, comfier fit. These also make a cute gift for friends, as well as new or expecting mamas.

18. These Booties

I didn’t expect to LOOOVE these booties as much as I did. They quickly became my favorite purchase from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

The block heel and impeccable cut of the bootie makes them so comfortable. The detail is so stylish and color super flattering. I recommend sizing up 1/2 size.

19. Stackable bracelet set

This stackable bracelet set comes in a ton of color combos. These make the perfect gifts or are great for just sprucing up your wardrobe. These can be worn together or separately.

20. Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

I’ve been hearing gals talk up this sweater on social media for years. I thought I’d check it out this year and see if it was worth the hype.

My opinion?

It’s super soft and cozy but there are so many other cardigans out there for a fraction of the price. While I really like this cardigan and am glad I purchased it, I definitely wouldn’t break the bank over it. It’s a ‘nice to have’ but not a ‘must have’.

You could always wait until a time like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale when it usually goes on sale. But if you’re looking to splurge on a cozy piece or special gift for someone, you won’t go wrong with this one:) See all Barefoot Dreams items from Nordstrom HERE.

With that said, it IS super soft and figure flattering the way it drapes along your body. It’s also ended up being the cardigan I’ve reached for the most when I just want to get warm and cozy.

These items are ones that just missed the Top 20 but were also popular items this year.

Studded flip flops : the ones I bought are no longer available since I purchased them a while ago, but these look identical to them! I have them in both a black and nude color and they looked so cute with my swimwear.

I wore them by the pool and in the sand. The sandals are even stylish enough to go with other summer outfits like a cute maxi dress, romper or even denim cut offs.

Pom Beanie : Found it so nice, I bought it twice! These pom beanies have a cute and fluffy pom pom. I have in the cream/off white and black colors.

Rainboots : This pair of rainboots is both functional and cute. I think they’re just the right height. The lining keeps your feet warm – and they even look cute with these socks I wear with them!

I bought my regular size which fits, but could’ve gone up 1/2 size. If you’re in between sizes or planning on wearing socks with them, I’d recommend going up 1/2 size too.

Jean Jacket : I had been eyeing this jean jacket up for a while, and finally grabbed it at the end of the summer when I saw it go on sale (it often does throughout the year). It goes so well with SO many things! I recommend going up one size. I sized up one size to a medium for a more comfy fit and it was perfect.

Black Cami : This was another Nordstrom purchase. I wasn’t sure whether to get the XS or S so I went with the small after reading reviews on the length. The straps are adjustable and the eyelash detail is darling.

You can wear the camisole alone or layered with a cardigan, blazer or moto jacket. It’s a very versatile piece and one that I consider a wardrobe staple.

Chambray Shirt : Speaking of closet staples, a chambray shirt is another classic. I’ve had this one for years and it does not disappoint. It can be dressed up or down, tied around the waist and paired with so many things from white denim to faux leather leggings.

Men’s Slippers : These cozy slippers were on my Christmas Gifts for Him Gift Guides. I have the women’s version of these slippers and they are sooo cozy & comfortable. What’s even better is that you can go from wearing them around the house to running errands.

Color Block Cardigan : I can’t say enough about Amazon’s sweaters. This is another one I picked up in the Fall and Face timed my sister with it as soon as I got it. She immediately went and ordered it too! It’s perfect because it keeps you warm without being too bulky.

I’m 5’3 and don’t usually wear longer cardigans but this one looks super cute. I wear my normal size small and it looks great with leggings or jeans. It comes in a variety of colors too.

Ruggable Rug : Moving into a new home this year with all hardwood floors in our main living area, caused me to hunt for some area rugs. I couldn’t be happier with the Ruggable rugs we ended up buying. The first one was this runner rug for the kitchen and the next one was this 8 x 10 area rug for the kids’ playroom. I plan to eventually ‘add’ to my collection:)

The rugs come in two pieces: the rug pad or bottom piece, and the top cover. Once you buy the set, you can later purchase just a rug cover of the same size to swap out looks for holidays, seasons, etc. The rugs lay flat, stay put, and are washable! The material is soft and comfortable for kids to sit and play on.

Sunglasses : These oversized sunglasses are super cute. They’re another Amazon find (and favorite!) They come in a bunch of colors and are currently less than $15!
