Who remembers the good ol’ days of Blockbuster, and the other video rental stores? Those days when you actually had to leave your house to pick up a movie. Now here we are years later, and with the click of a few buttons, there’s endless tv and movie options at our fingertips. And Disney Plus (often displayed as Disney+) is about to become the newest video streaming subscription available.
TV and video streaming has become a popular form of instant gratification in recent years. Convenience is huge and oh so popular these days. Today’s busy society craves instant gratification, only to be encouraged by things like “On Demand” and Amazon Prime.
I’ve been a loyal Amazon Prime customer for years. I know I’ve been conditioned and spoiled by their 2 day (or less) shipping. So now when I order things, if it takes longer than 2 days, I don’t usually want to wait–I want it fast. The same goes for watching my favorite shows and movies.

TV/Video Streaming
Streaming our favorite shows and movies whenever we want to nowadays is a real treat. My kids will never understand what it was like to be a kid in the 90’s and running to the TV when you heard the 90210 theme song come on the television.
Speaking of television, one way we’ve saved money as a family is by cancelling cable. Instead, we stream through Netflix and Amazon. While most things we watch on there are included in the subscriptions, we’ve ended up renting or buying a few Disney movies for the kids.
Our kids have loved watching the Disney movies and have been begging us to watch more. I also love watching them too because I feel like I’m reliving my childhood.
But it gets expensive renting or buying each individual movie. Not to mention, many Disney movies aren’t even available on those other subscription sites anymore.
Therefore, I can’t wait to start our Disney Plus subscription!
I foresee many many family movie nights on the horizon. Hopefully we’ll be watching some great Disney classics along with the many new ones from recent years.
**UPDATE** : We’ve been streaming Disney Plus since it became available–and we’ve LOVED it! There is so much available and we’ve had many family movie nights. And there’s so much to watch that my husband and I have enjoyed Disney Plus just as much as the kids!
