It’s the beginning of February! And you know what that means? Valentine’s Day is JUST around the corner. So today I wanted to show you three super easy Valentine’s Day dessert ideas for kids. These recipes have very few ingredients, they are quick to make (no bake), and the kids will have a blast decorating them.
My husband and I love to cook and bake, and our son has started asking to “help” in the kitchen. He has become quite the mixer of pancake batter, shaker of spices, and roller of cookie dough. Since he has shown this interest of helping in the kitchen, we have tried to let him help as much as possible.
But his all-time favorite job in the kitchen is taste testing. This boy has one serious sweet tooth. One day I brought home a few beignets from a local bakery where I had coffee with some other moms. He loved them so much, the next time I came home he immediately asked “Mom, did you bring me beignets?” I couldn’t stop laughing, realizing he not only remembered the word, but pronounced it correctly. Funny how quickly they learn the words for things they love so much.
So he was beyond excited when I asked him to help me with these Valentine’s Day desserts.
What we made: Heart Shaped Jello Jigglers, Pink Heart Shaped Rice Krispie Treats, and Heart Shaped Apple Slices.
In addition to the main ingredients needed for each treat, we used these supplies that we had around the house so that we could decorate our masterpieces . . . that’s the fun part, right?
Listing all three of these desserts together would make for one long post—and no one has time for that! So to make it easier, I listed the links below so you can choose which one to view or make . . . or make ALL of them! (At least check them out for the cute and funny pictures)
